Councilor of Northcote 1928/9 - 1937/8.
Curate of Church of Epiphany. Also St Aidans Church Thornbury.
Gained teacher's certificate 19 Nov 1884. Teacher Thornbury Primary School. Retired from Education Dept in 1927.
Sons: A L Hughes & O B Hughes (Deputy Commissioner of Taxation). Both were solicitors.
