Description:
Tetlow Index to Hotels, shows Thomas Whitby running the Woodcock Hotel on Heidelberg Road Alphington in 1856. It was probably located on Old Heidelberg Road, which runs along the south side of the Tower Hotel. This road led to a wooden bridge crossing the Darebin Creek. It was demolished and replaced with the current bridge on Heidelberg Road in 1858.
